valueshark is now moatshark
Same site, same data, new name. A moat is the lasting advantage that lets a great business compound for decades, which is what Buffett and Munger looked for and what the managers here try to own. The site now lives at moatshark.com, and old links redirect automatically.

My portfolio: more companies, and why figures are missing
Earnings now cover companies that file one annual report a year (a 20-F), such as PDD and Alibaba, with US-listed ADSs converted to ordinary shares, and companies like Occidental that changed how they report profit. Where a figure still isn’t available, the page says why. It also shows when the company figures were last updated. On phones, holdings tables are now simple lists, a ★ My button sits beside Menu, and My moatshark can send your lists to another device with a link.

The quarter in brief, and “Just filed”
The home page now tells the quarter’s story: the most popular buys, the most popular new position and the most sold. Early in filing season the round-up shows the last complete quarter, with what’s in so far a tap away. A “Just filed” filter on the manager list shows the newest 13Fs first, and the list is a simple table on phones.

Coast FIRE calculator
How big a pot you need, the pot you need today to stop saving, and the age you get there at your fees and at cheaper ones. It also checks whether you have enough in ISAs to bridge the years before you can draw a pension at 57.

Take-home pay calculator
Work out your 2026/27 take-home pay (including Scotland and student loans) and see what £1 in your pension really costs through salary sacrifice, a workplace pension or a SIPP, and what it could grow to against an ISA.

Tap a number to see the list
On Every stock, the summary boxes now filter the table: tap “Held by 5 or more managers” to see just those companies. On manager and company pages they jump to the matching section.

Why fees matter, and what's different here
Getting started now opens with a quick box showing what your charges cost this year and over 30 years, and why fees matter more than anything else you control. Why moatshark has a plain list of what it does that 13F sites don't, and a fair note for people coming from Dataroma.

Three rules for building wealth, and UK tax pages
Three rules for building wealth, with a calculator showing what starting ten years later costs. Plus plain-English UK tax pages: pensions and salary sacrifice (and the April 2029 change), the £100,000 tax trap, every yearly allowance, and inheritance tax including pensions from April 2027. Each page shows when its figures were last checked; they’re re-checked after every Budget.

Getting started, and a fee calculator
A short UK guide to investing for yourself: a calculator showing what fund, platform and adviser charges cost your pot over time (try your own numbers), what the evidence says about trackers and active funds, and how ISAs and pensions keep the tax as well as the fees.

Easier to find your way around
Each menu heading now opens a list of its pages, and the pages within a section sit in a tab bar under the header. Data pages have smaller headings so the figures start higher up, explanations are one line with the detail a click away, manager pages have jump links that stay at the top as you scroll, and numbers in tables line up.

Follow your managers across the site, and the 13F countdown is back
One “Managers I follow” switch now filters Latest moves (13F filings, 5% stakes and Form 4 buys), Insider buying and the manager list, and stays on as you move between pages. The days to the next 13F deadline are shown large on the home page and Latest moves, with how many managers, and how many you follow, have filed. Also new: a glossary, CSV and JSON downloads of every manager's holdings and every company's holders, and tables that turn into cards on phones.

Portfolio match, portfolio mix over time and simpler menus
My portfolio now ranks the value investors whose portfolios are most like yours, by overlapping weight, and shows what each manager did with your companies last quarter. Manager pages show how the portfolio's mix has changed over every quarter, next to the play-through. You can pick managers to follow straight from My moatshark, Compare has moved under Managers, and the footer is now a site map with the same headings as the menu.

Look-through earnings by year
Each manager's look-through earnings chart now shows calendar years built from four quarters, each quarter counting that quarter's profits at the stakes held then, so no profit is counted twice. Click any quarter, or pick one from the list, to see the holdings behind it. The rolling 12-month view is still one click away.

Quarter summaries and share images
Each manager page now opens with a plain-English summary of its latest quarter, and links to manager and company pages show their top holdings or holders when shared on social media.
15 Oct 2026
Insider buying
Open-market share purchases reported on Form 4 in the last 90 days: by the value investors themselves (Berkshire Hathaway bought about $193m of Lennar on 1–2 October, weeks before its next 13F) and by companies’ own directors. Also on manager, company and portfolio pages.

My portfolio: accounts, backups, results and announcements
Label holdings by account or provider and see totals for each, download a backup file, and see your companies’ latest results against a year earlier, their major announcements (8-K filings) and their directors’ share dealings.

Every quarter since 2013
A round-up page for each quarter: what the managers owned, bought and sold, with a written summary. New listings and spin-offs are labelled so they aren’t mistaken for purchases.
15 Oct 2026
Cleaner history
Renamed companies are now linked to today’s company (Google to Alphabet, Priceline to Booking, Coach to Tapestry and others), so a rename no longer looks like a sale. Companies whose financial year doesn’t end in December now have every quarter.

Learn: 13F, 13D and look-through earnings
Plain-English guides to what a 13F shows and misses, how to read a 13D, and look-through earnings, plus a page on what makes moatshark different.

Add the shares you own and see your slice of each company’s revenue, earnings, free cash flow and dividends, when each reports next, and which value investors own them too. Your holdings stay in your browser.
14 Oct 2026
A clearer site
Five sections (Managers, Stocks, Latest moves, Compare, Learn), a new home page with search, manager pages that lead with what changed, a Follow button and a “new since your last visit” strip.
13 Oct 2026
5% stakes, latest filings and look-through earnings
Schedule 13D and 13G filings for every manager, a feed of the newest 13Fs with their biggest buys and sales, quarter-end prices, My managers, and each manager’s share of the profits of the companies it owns.
