You can use moatshark without an account, and we don’t ask for any personal details to read it.

What we collect

  • Contact form. If you send us a message, we receive your name, email address and message. We use them only to reply and to fix what you report, and delete them when they’re no longer needed.
  • Server logs. Our host, Netlify, keeps standard logs (such as IP address, browser and pages requested) to run and secure the site.
  • Email alerts. If you sign up, we store your email address, the managers you chose and whether you want site news, plus a record of which alerts we’ve sent you. We use them only to send the emails you asked for. You confirm your address first; unconfirmed addresses are deleted after 7 days. Unsubscribing, from the link in any alert, deletes your address straight away. To stop people being signed up in bulk, we briefly keep a scrambled (hashed) form of the IP address used to sign up, for no more than a day.
  • Favourites. Managers you star are saved in your own browser’s storage. They never leave your device, and clearing your browser data removes them.

We don’t use advertising or tracking cookies, and we don’t sell or share personal information.

Other services

  • Video thumbnails load from YouTube’s image servers on the Insights page. Videos open on YouTube.
  • The site is hosted by Netlify, and the data, including alert sign-ups, is stored with Supabase (in London).
  • Alert emails are sent by Resend, which processes your email address only to deliver them.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct or delete anything you’ve sent us. Use the contact page or email hello@moatshark.com. You can change or cancel email alerts yourself from the link in any alert. If you’re in the UK, you can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).
