Why moatshark
I manage my own money as an owner of businesses, using the filings of investors I admire as a starting point. The free tools for following them were thin, showing a 13F and stopping there, and on a phone they were hard to read past the adverts. moatshark adds what I wanted to see, like the fund holdings a 13F leaves out, the managers’ own trades since their last filing, and look-through earnings. I also wanted to show how much people lose to fees without noticing. My approach is in three rules.
What moatshark isn’t
I’m not a regulated financial adviser, and nothing on this site is a personal recommendation. moatshark has no connection with any manager it shows. The data comes from public SEC filings, and the methods are explained in how moatshark works. Spotted a mistake? Tell me.
