How moatshark is funded

moatshark is independent. No investment manager, fund, broker, company or publisher pays to appear on it, and nothing here is a recommendation to buy, sell or hold anything. It’s free to use and carries no adverts.
Affiliate links
We may add affiliate links in future, starting with books: if you follow one and buy, moatshark earns a small commission from the seller, at no extra cost to you. That money goes towards the running costs of the site, and your support is genuinely appreciated.
- Always labelled. Every affiliate link is marked “Affiliate link” where it appears, not just on this page.
- Choices come first. The books we list are chosen because the investors on the site wrote or recommended them, with a source for each. Whether a book has an affiliate link never decides whether it’s listed.
- Where they appear. Only on the books list in Ideas and books. There are none in the holdings data, downloads, email alerts or the AI connector.
Brokers and investment platforms
We don’t have any paid links to brokers, investment platforms or financial products. If that changes, those links will be labelled in the same way, kept separate from the guides, and use the provider’s own approved wording and risk warnings.
Your privacy
moatshark doesn’t set any cookies for affiliate links and doesn’t pass on anything about you. If you follow one, the seller and the affiliate network may set their own cookies to record that you came from moatshark; they tell us only that a sale was made, not who you are. See the privacy notice.
