Matthew McLennan

Head of the Global Value Team and Portfolio Manager, First Eagle Investment Management

Matthew McLennan joined First Eagle in September 2008 from Goldman Sachs Asset Management, where he had been Chief Investment Officer (2003–2008) of a London-based team running a focused, value-oriented global equity product, having started in the industry in 1991. He leads First Eagle's Global Value team and is a portfolio manager of the First Eagle Global, Overseas and U.S. funds. The Global Fund follows a benchmark-agnostic value approach that seeks a margin of safety in individual stocks and holds cash and gold as hedges, with the aim of avoiding permanent impairment of capital.
