Biography
Christopher Bloomstran founded Semper Augustus Investments Group in St. Louis in 1998, after working as a vice president and portfolio manager at UMB Investment Advisors, where he managed the Scout Balanced Fund. He holds a BS in Finance from the University of Colorado at Boulder and became a CFA charterholder in 1994. He runs concentrated portfolios of well-run, well-capitalised businesses bought below conservative estimates of intrinsic value, and is widely known for his long annual client letters and detailed analysis of Berkshire Hathaway.
