Biography

Steven Bregman studied at Hunter College and earned the CFA charter in 1989. He co-founded Horizon Kinetics in 1994 and has been its president and a senior portfolio manager, overseeing the firm's research; he is also president and chief financial officer of FRMO Corp. The firm concentrates on areas it sees as structurally inefficient, such as spin-offs, distressed debt and owner-operated companies.
